When constructing the framework
for City Chicken I noticed his shape would provide me with more
surface area to paint on. This of course, because I like to
paint, was very exciting. However, this extra surface area was
possible because he, from chest to tail, was somewhat longer
than my first chicken. At that point, in his wire construction,
it was hard to tell what kind of body type he would be. I decided
to go with it!
After the papering and the many
applications of acrylic compound and sanding I stood back and
looked at the shape I had made and found I liked the semi-abstracted
chicken form. City Chicken reminds me of a very good looking
cowboy who has "come to town". He stands tall with
his head held high and proudly displays all he has to offer.
